Q. Are your lawn applications safe?

A. The materials used for treatment have a very low toxicity. They are used in strict compliance to label instructions and applied by licensed technicians following all state regulations. (back)

Q. When is it safe to go on the lawn after fertilizer and pesticides are applied?

A. If we use granular fertilizer, it is safe to go on the lawn immediately. If liquid weed control is used, you should wait until it dries before children and pets are allowed on the lawn. The drying time will vary depending on the weather.(back)

Q. How do I adjust the pH of the soil?

A. Lime can help to decrease the acidity of the soil and makes the grass more able to absorb and use nutrients and fertilizers more efficiently. It can also add calcium which aids in the photosynthesis process. Elemental sulfure can be used if the pH is too high. A free soil sample will determine if any adjusment is necessary. (back)

Q. How does aeration help the lawn?

A. Aeration loosens the soil and allows air and water to get down to the roots of the grass. It prevents soil compaction and improves the development of the roots. This can you’re your soil healthier and more resistant to stressful environments. (back)

Q. What is the best time of day to water?

A. Early morning is the best time to water the lawn. In normal situations, 15 minutes a day 3-4 days a week will be sufficient. This is dependent on the weather conditions and the condition of the lawn. We can work with you to determine the best schedule for your yard. After any pesticide, herbicide or fertilizer application, you should wait at least 24 hours before watering the lawn. It is better not to water at night, because it can increase chances for disease.

Q. What insects are controlled by your external household treatment?

A. Any crawling insects that come into your home. This includes spides, roaches, ants, millipedes etc. It does not kill flying insects.

Q. What is the best time of year to fertilize trees and shrubs?

A. Fall is the best time to fertilizer. This supplies the nutrients that are needed to keep the trees and shrubs healthy during the winter. It also helps the roots grow and thrive. This leads to healthy plants.

Q. How long should I wait to mow after lawn treatments?

A. It is safe to mow immediately after any granular treatments are applied. However, you should wait 24-48 hours after any liquid lawn treatments. (back)

Q. Does it help to water the lawn after treatments are applied?

A. For most liquid weed controls and liquid insect control, it is not a good idea to water immediately after application. The material needs to be allowed time to absorb into the plants. Most granular treatments need to be watered in. As long as it is watered or rains within a few days it will make the product much more effective. (back)
